Thank you for your patience. You should have seen no significant drop in effectiveness (maybe the odd blank blogroll during short segments). We are completely back online. Of course, you’ll have to wait until DNS propogates, but patience will be rewarded. In the interim, all blogrolls are being served, and once you can get back to blogrolling.com itself (which should be …. now) then you can keep up with your changes (etc).
Thank you for your patience and support!

IMPORTANT UPDATE - Today is the day - we have new systems all setup and configured for blogrolling, and all that is required is a small transition window. We will begin the migration at 3pm EDT (8pm UTC). In the interim, all weblogs will continue to work, but no changes will be permitted (traffic to blogrolling.com will be redirected here to see this news item). A notice will be posted here once the migration is complete.
Fingers crossed!

It may seem to many of you that BlogRolling has been forgotten and abandoned. We assure you, this is not the case! In fact, I have been assigned to care for BlogRolling, polish it, make it shinier, work better, add features, and other administrivia. While I am only working on BlogRolling part time (in fact, I’m a full time student), this is where all my energies and efforts are being placed.
The first step is look and feel - with the move of our news page to WordPress, we are setting the standard for how BlogRolling will eventually look. Also, we are upgrading our systems, which should provide noticeable improvements in speed and stability (especially where updates are concerned!). More will come as it happens!

We've had more than our fair share of problems in the past couple of weeks. Starting with an overly aggressive piece of code that was sucking up more than its fair share of resources around April 17th, culminating in a complete failure of our network provider in Los Angeles yesterday…”this was a widespread issue that affected multiple networks and public peering exchanges within Los Angeles. The investigation is still ongoing and expected to take some time due to the number of parties involved, however in the meantime please review the attached report for further information. ”
We still have an issue displaying blogs to some IE6 and IE7 users related to the statistics tool that we use to count page-views, etc. Our developers are currently looking at this issue and hope to have it resolved quickly.
I'm also going to try and keep this blog more up to date. I really apologize that we left it fallow for so long. Tucows is still committed to Blogrolling.com and we've got several improvements in the pipe that we will be rolling out through the summer.

Its taken me a bit to get this implemented, but we’re pleased to announce that Blogrolling is now completely free. All of the features that were previously reserved for Blogrolling Gold customers are now available to all Blogrolling customers. The plan is to reintroduce a pay option in the near future, but for now, the amount of stuff that we’re offering Gold users simply isn’t enough to request that you keep paying us your good money for our services.
When we do reintroduce the pay option in the future, anyone who ever upgraded to Gold status will automatically get credit for their existing payment. So until then, enjoy the new features!

Yesterday, the BR team experienced significant hardship while performing emergency maintenance. While the maintenance window ran smoothly, we ran into a hosting problem, thus why some of you were seeing a New Services Evaluation
Program Overview site instead of blogrolling.com. This issue has now been resolved and we apologize if you were not able to access and manage your blogrolls at this time.
Sincerely,
The BR Team

Please note that blogrolling.com is curerntly down for maintenance reasons. We have been experiencing technical issues with the database and have to take down the entire service in order to repair the problem in a quick fashion.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The BR team.

There was a temporary problem with our payment gateway this morning between 10:59am and 11:14am EST during which we were unable to properly process transaction requests. If you tried to use the payment gateway during this period, you would have received an error and your transaction would not have been approved.
This was a temporary condition and we have permanently fixed the problem.

We had some problems with the ping form last week that resulted in this error being displayed when manual pings were sent via the ping form:
FAIL! - DATABASE ERROR: Incorrect key file for table \\\'weblogs\\\'; try to repair it, query was UPDATE weblogs SET last_update=\\\'1138567345\\\' WHERE url=\\\'http://www.blogname.url/\\\'.
This problem has now been fixed. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Blogrolling Downtime
Saturday, November 12, 2005
Approximately 2:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time
Estimated downtime: 3 hours
Please note that both Blogrolling and the Blogrolling Forums will be
down on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 2:00 a.m. (that’s Friday the
11th at 11:00 p.m. Pacific Time or Saturday the 12th at 7:00 a.m. UTC).
During this time, your blogrolls will not work, nor will the
Blogrolling forums be up.
We expect that this downtime — during which we’ll be doing some
server maintenance — will not last longer than 3 hours. Normal service
will resume once we’re finished.
We apologize for the short notice — this was just the best possible time to do the maintenance work.
